POSITION
The Acquisitions Senior Analyst / Associate will work with the acquisitions team to analyze potential property investments and to execute the overall investment program for the firm's industrial and special purpose real estate investment business. The candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team that includes the disciplines of finance, capital markets, research, acquisitions, and asset management. The candidate will work with other team members and third party consultants to complete diligence and refine underwriting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Building, modifying and maintaining detailed excel based cash flow models
Reviewing and distilling all due diligence related to new investments including but not limited to the review of third party environmental and engineering reports, title, survey, entitlements / zoning, historical financial statements, leases, and market research
Assembling and drafting investment memos to be presented to senior members of the firm
Monitor and analyze the financial performance of properties and portfolios
Create/maintain portfolio models
Assist with financing and disposition transactions
Prepare ad-hoc reports / analyses when needed
Assist with special projects as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong skills in financial analysis and modeling; high competency in preparing cash flows
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
2-4 years of experience as an investment analyst in a major real estate firm, preferably in either acquisitions or asset management
Prefer experience in the investment underwriting of multi-family and industrial asset types
Prefer experience in preparing written investment recommendations to an investment committee
Candidate should be proactive and self-motivated. Strong work ethic, integrity and commitment to meet deadlines are essential candidate attributes
Candidate should be very organized and able to adequately manage and track multiple workflows, particularly managing third parties
Candidate must also possess strong interpersonal communication and writing skills
